What StoryKind stores about your child, who can see it, how long we keep it, and how parents delete a child profile or the full parent account safely.
What data does StoryKind store about my child?
We store the minimum needed to personalise stories and track reading: first name, age, reading level, avatar style choices (not photos), interests, reading history, quiz results, and Duet fluency scores. We do not store last names, photos, school names, child emails, physical addresses, or precise location.
Who can see my child's data?
You see everything in the Dashboard. Teachers see progress only if you join a class. Staff may access accounts for support or reported content. We do not sell or rent child data for marketing. Stripe sees billing data only; Clerk handles sign-in.
How does StoryKind handle COPPA and GDPR?
We require a parental consent gate before a child profile is created, record consent with a timestamp, and let you revoke it by deleting the profile. Children cannot create accounts. Adults control every child profile under COPPA and GDPR design.
How do I delete a child's data?
Go to Dashboard → Children, open the child, tap Delete Child Profile, and confirm. Deletion is permanent: stories, history, quizzes, and fluency for that child are removed immediately.
How do I delete my whole parent account?
Email [email protected] with subject "Account Deletion Request," or use Dashboard → Settings → Account. We process within 24 hours. Data stays while the account is active; we do not auto-delete seasonal pauses.
Are Duet voice recordings kept?
Duet recordings are processed for a fluency score and are not kept beyond that short processing window. We do not build a voice profile or retrain models on your child's voice.
